Inhaltsangabe: Chicago 1920: Gangster Sam Dunleavy ist gerade in die Stadt zurückgekehrt und wird von Al, einem Jugendfreund besucht, der jetzt Polizeibeamter ist. Al weiß, dass Sams Freundin ihn gerade verlassen hat, und er warnt Sam nichts Gewalttätiges zu versuchen. Aber Sam beabsichtigt, seine Freundin zu töten, und er weiß, dass er ein Alibi braucht. Er trifft seinen Freund Barney, der verspricht, ihm ein perfektes Alibi für $ 2500 zu geben.

Now, if only Dunleavy had killed Goldie, he could have accounted for his actions at the time of Barney's accidental death. But then, suppose the police started asking questions about Goldie.
